What? Who? Why? - Task 3

Q&A with a student MUA....

Q.  What were your expectations of starting the course?

A.  Upon starting the course my expectations were to meet new   people with similar interests and abilities and learn how to become MUAs together.

Q.  What were your initial thoughts on WCS and the media make up course?

A.  My initial thoughts of WCS were that it was so much nicer and modern on the inside than it looks from the outside!  Also, they do a great roll and sausage for breakfast for £1! - I am easily pleased!.  I didn't know what to expect from the Media Makeup course but my initial thoughts were that there is so much more involved and that I can't wait to get stuck in!

Q.  What is the funniest moment of college life so far?

A.  There have been quite a few funny moments already but one to name was when Julie decided it would be a good idea to use the word 'Incandescent' but have no idea what it meant... that then lead to us all using the word in all sort of sentences.

Q.  What is the most interesting thing you have learned how to do so far?

A.  The most interesting thing I have learned to do so far is making prosthetics for cuts and bullet wounds using liquid latex and wax. So much easier than I though it would be yet it is super effective!  Looking forward to getting to dress them and then apply!

Q.  Who is your makeup idol?

A.  I admire so many different artists and all the different styles that they do!  For standard day to day makeup my idol is Bobbi Brown who was the stand out MUA of her time!

Q.  Why do you want to be a MUA?

A.  I want to be a MUA as it interests me no end!  I love being able to make someone look more beautiful or make them change their appearance completely using prosthetic pieces or face paints.  There are so many different avenues than can be taken and they are each as fascinating as the next!

I hope this gives you a small insight in to my thoughts behind being an MUA!
